‘Diary of a Young Naturalist’

Dara is a 15 year old naturalist, conservationist, activist and writer. For the last four years, Dara has been standing up for nature, the beauty of our local natural heritage and the unprecedented challenges it is facing.

He started his wildlife blog, ‘Young Fermanagh Naturalist’, aged 12 and his writing quickly attracted attention and the support of eminent conservationists and environmental leaders. This remarkable young man has spoken at 10 Downing Street, Westminster, St James’s Palace and to 10,000 people at Chris Packham’s ‘Walk for Wildlife’ In Hyde Park, London. Locally, he raised several thousand Pounds for Northern Ireland Raptor Study Group to satellite tag persecuted Red Kites and Buzzards and he leads ‘Roots and Shoots’, a nature and environmental group at his school, Shimna Integrated College.

Dara’s debut book, ‘Diary of a Young Naturalist’, will be released next June and he will continue to tirelessly campaign for nature and wildlife both at home and in the corridors of power.
