RACHAEL HUNTER

Friends of the Earth Northern Ireland

Rachael remembers when animals used to be outside in the fields, but it’s not like that anymore.

Rachael is a busy mum of 3 who has always lived in Carnmoney, near Belfast. A huge pig factory is being built near her home. She is worried about the impact on the surrounding area when the pig factory is open, and how it will affect the health of her son (who has a chronic lung condition) and of those living close by.

Rachael hopes that through the campaign to stop the pig factory people will become more aware of where their food comes from and the type of life the animals have had.

“I think some people think we’re really anti-farming. That’s not what it’s about for me.”
